Congs too good for Moonee Ponds

Congs 1XI were too good for Moonee Ponds taking 1st innings points in the first week of their 2 day game. Week 2 was abandoned due to Weather

Winning the toss and captain Reg Mustafa elected to bowl.

Josh Lanciana was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 11-2-5-22 with Parsanjeet Malik also providing an excellent spell with 11-1-3-32 off 11 overs, Moonee Ponds were dismissed for 118. Starring with the bat were our two openers Matthew Leach 67 and Gourav Chawla 30 putting on a first wicket partnership of 71 runs.

Williamstown Congs passed Moonee Ponds score of 118, 5 wickets down with 8 overs left in the first days play.

With rain forcing day 2 to be abandoned this gave Congs a much needed points boost on the ladder to keep up with the top 4.

Our next game will be held at J.T Gray Reserve , December 9th @ 1pm Vs Seabrook C.C. Our 2XI will be playing away at Bruce Comben Reserve @ 1pm December 9th. These games are both two day games and both teams would appreciate your support.

Following the days play in week 2 on the 16th December, we will be hosting “Christmas With The Congs”, come along and get a photo with Santa @ 6pm with food to be provided at a small cost of $10 per head with drinks at bar prices.

As the night goes on some adult activities will be held so come along and send 2023 off in style.
